PerimEter
Trail

Tractor mowing a path at Long Point, Vermont

As scheduled, the Land Stewards have made progress in developing a perimeter trail around Long Point's most extensive fields, located south of the gardens. Clark Hinsdale and Carrie Koplinka-Loehr used his impressive tractor and mower to carve a path along the hedgerows surrounding the large fields.

Long Point residents can access this trail from the stump dump road, the gardens, the dock storage area, or the Bay Road curve near the fishing access road's beginning.

We encourage everyone to enjoy walking, birdwatching, and appreciating the natural surroundings. Our fields are now home to Bobolinks and other grassland birds, so please keep pets on a leash and avoid walking in the fields' interior to protect nesting birds, their eggs, and their offspring.

Clay Court and Tennis Ball

Tennis
Anyone

A special thanks to a dedicated group of individuals who help maintain our clay tennis court in excellent condition. Please be considerate of other players and adhere to the posted rules of use. Each year, a team of volunteers and members work together to ensure that Long Point's tennis court offers an exceptional "French Open" experience for all players.

LaFlam Park, situated at the turn onto Bay Road, is a fun-filled destination that hosts our Annual Ice Cream Social. From shuffleboard to tennis, we express our gratitude to the volunteers for their diligent care of the park.

Currently, we are accepting donations to revamp the basketball court.

If you ever find yourself short on parking space at your camp, feel free to use the parking area on the park's north side for your guests.

SPEED LIMIT!

Despite MULTIPLE additions of speed humps all over Long Point AND the reduction of the speed limit on North Road to 5 MPH, some people STILL continue to drive too fast.

THIS IS DANGEROUS!

We have people walking, children and pets playing, and we need to do everything we can to protect them! Driving too fast also kicks up the dust unnecessarily and helps to destroy our roads.

This means we are ALL paying more to maintain our roads. Please tell your family, friends, guests, and renters that driving slowly is everyone’s responsibility. Thank you to all the Long Pointers who drive slowly!
